TAMAGO
Join us for a staged reading of TAMAGO by our NYSCA Commissioned Ladder Artist, Sam Hamashima, directed by Nicholas Polonio.
A little about TAMAGO:
Yellow wants white. It's straightforward at first: a nip here, a tuck there, an expensive copay. But in this reality, Kevin's escape from his Japanese Identity becomes much more than a few surgeries. When Kevin's plaster casts break and he hatches, will everything be sunny side up? Tamago, meaning egg in Japanese, thrusts us into a labyrinth filled with minotaurs, dead ends, and pallid ghouls of shame. A fateful moment on Fire Island, a geisha doll encased in glass, and a desire for freedom hold this provocateur together like a stitched up chimera. TAMAGO beckons you into the maze of liberation one bloody step at a time. Watch your step; you might step on a severed limb.
