About The Ladder Series

THE LADDER SERIES is our new work development program dedicated to the creation of bold new theatrical works through dialogue and collaboration. It supports generative BIPOC artists who are subverting expectations and re-imagining what theater can be and who it is for through paid development opportunities, staged readings, workshops and consultations with The Movement's artistic staff. Current and previous Ladder Artists and projects include: Eric Lockley (Sweet Chariot, Current), Marco Antonio Rodriguez (Walk-In), Aleshea Harris (What To Send Up When It Goes Down), Harrison David Rivers (Look Upon Our Lowliness & And She Would Stand Like This), Cherrye J. Davis (Tapes).

Thanks to our supporters for making The Ladder possible!

Axe-Houghton Foundation, New York State Council on The Arts, Howard Gilman Foundation, Lucille Lortel Foundation, Richenthal Foundation, Playwrights Horizons & New Georges.

Extra special thanks to our board (Jodie Gerard, Karen Hsueh, Lisa Cleff Kurtz, Harrison David Rivers & William Zichawo) and all of our donors large and small!
